BERTRAM ARTS
Bertram Arts was established in 2005 by me, Geoffrey Bertram, after a career in art galleries in Edinburgh, Toronto and London. Bertram Arts promoted the work of selected Somerset artists through exhibitions and art fairs.
Since I retired in 2020 Bertram Arts has not been active. However, over the years I have acquired many artworks to support artists. A selection of my personal collection is offered here. The diversity reflects the broad interest and dynamism of the artists whom I have been fortunate to work with. These are presented in ARTWORKS.
OLD MASTERS
In 2012 I wrote and published The Etchings of John Clerk of Eldin to mark the 200th anniversary of the artist’s death (see www.clerkofeldin.com – the book is available here at reduced price for Bertram Arts visitors). Arising from this project I started to acquire old master prints, building an extensive number on the theme of landscape, published between 1500 and 1820. The collection has grown to more than 600 prints by over 280 artist/engravers. I am rationalising the collection by releasing a few choice prints, set out in OLD MASTER PRINTS.
