Kenneth Lauder Drawings

Kenneth Lauder is known for his constant experimenting. He had an enquiring  mind which led him down seemingly different routes throughout his career. It helped that he was enormously versatile in a variety of media. However, although there is this diversity of style...

After over forty years of working in the art world I have stepped back from directly promoting artists. In this time I have acquired many artworks to help support artists, some of which I offer here. The diversity reflects the broad interest and skills of the wonderful artists whom I have had the good fortune to work with, from my time in Edinburgh, Toronto, London and Somerset.  Please email me if you would like to make a purchase or require further information – geoffrey@bertram-arts.com

A BIT OF HISTORY Bertram Arts was established in 2005 to promote Somerset artists. It is set up by myself, Geoffrey Bertram, after many years of working in art galleries – in Edinburgh (Aitken Dott & Son/The Scottish Gallery), Toronto (Theo Waddington Galleries/Waddington & Shiell) and London (The Scottish Gallery, and as founding Director of Art First). Bertram Arts promoted the work of selected Somerset artists through exhibitions and art fairs, from London to Glasgow. Between 2008 and 2012 I was the curator for the Art for Life programme at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, organising their art exhibitions and sourcing art for the hospital environment. From 2005 to March 2019 I was Chair of the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust, a charity established by the renowned St Andrews/St Ives artist Wilhelmina Barns-Graham (1912-2004).

In 2012 I wrote and published The Etchings of John Clerk of Eldin to mark the 200th anniversary of the artist’s death (see www.clerkofeldin.com), available here at reduced price for Bertram Arts visitors. This project has led to my growing collection of, and research into, Old Master prints, specifically of landscapes printed between 1493 and1820.
