Gordon Faulds was born in Paisley in 1957. He received his BA in Fine Art from Preston Polytechnic, Lancaster before gaining his MA at Bath Academy of Art, Corsham. ‘Deluge ‘ was the first step in a new development for this fine artist who is best known for drawings of antique artefacts. ‘Small Effigy’ takes these as its starting point. Faulds is a wonderful draughtsman and his object resonant with historical associations. In the past his work has been seen in the exhibitions at the Venice Biennale, ING Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries, London, and with The House of Fairy Tales in Salisbury and St Ives, ‘The Art of Giving’ at the Saatchi Gallery London, and ‘Exquisite Trove’ – New Art gallery, Walsall and Newlyn Gallery, Cornwall. His work is in private collections in UK, Eire, USA and Japan, including Hestercombe Gardens, Somerset, and The Open University. He is living currently in Somerset.
